How to Apply

FEDERAL FINANCIAL AID

There are a few easy steps to follow to apply for federal financial aid.

  1. Begin by creating an FSA ID, which is your personal identification number for your account. You will need this number to complete and sign your FAFSA, to apply for a federal direct loan, and to review/access your accounts on other federal student aid websites.

Go to fsaid.ed.gov and follow the prompts to create your FSA ID. Once you have your FSA ID you are ready to complete your FAFSA.

  2. Go the FAFSA website, fafsa.gov to complete your FAFSA. You will need to have your financial information from 2016 to complete your application. You may be able to use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool when you get to the financial section of the FAFSA to retrieve your information directly from the IRS. If you are eligible to use this tool, it is recommended that you do so for accuracy.

When asked for a school code, enter 867530 for Centennial University.

  3. If you are applying for Federal Direct Student Loans, you will need to complete Loan Entrance Counseling, as well as a Master Promissory Note (MPN).

To complete the Loan Entrance Counseling, go to studentloans.gov and click on the Complete Entrance Counseling link.

To complete the Master Promissory Note (MPN) go to studentloans.gov and click on the Complete Loan Agreement for a Subsidized/Unsubsidized Loan (MPN) link.

Once you have completed your FAFSA, you will receive a Student Aid Report. Centennial University will receive a copy and determine what type of aid you are eligible for based on the results of the information you entered on your FAFSA. Once your admissions application has been processed, you will receive a Financial Aid Award Letter which will outline what type of aid you are eligible for, and the amount of each award.
